Guylian Chocolate in Malta


Guylian confectionery is exclusively produced in Belgium and sold in more than 100 countries across the globe. At M. Demajo & Co Ltd, we deliver the world's most famous chocolate sea shells in milk, dark and white chocolate filled with a unique roasted hazelnut praline and which are also available in other refreshing flavours. The range is well known for the vast assortment of gift boxes, truffles and bars and is available at leading confectionery retail outlets and supermarkets. A smaller range, yet vast in its own right, is the Guylian Easter Selection giving the sea shells a seasonal and traditional twist! Guylian also produces specialties for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.


 


History

Guylian came to life with the marriage of Belgian chocolatier Guy Foubert and wife Liliane giving their combined names to the World’s famous Belgian chocolates. Together, they started producing pralines from their home and selling to the local shops. By the time the Chocolaterie was founded in 1960, Guylian had already stated their skills of handcrafted chocolates. Guylian was enlisted in the Guiness Book of Record by 2005 having a number of master chocolatiers composing a sculpture of the World’s largest Easter egg using nearly 2000 kilogrammes of chocolate.

Behind Guylian’s success is a team of 250 employees and a production area with the capacity of producing 75 tonnes of chocolate a day. Guylian exports 94% of their production and was accuired in 2008 by the Lotte Group, Korea’s fifth largest business group.
